We ended the week with Read Around the School. It is so wonderful to see our students reading with each other and family members all around our school. Our students and staff enjoy this opportunity to read with families. Please check out our TV the next time you are in our main entrance to see some pictures of this month’s Read Around.

Lockdown Drill

On Wednesday, February 1st, our school will have our annual lockdown drill. In this drill, staff and students will be practicing staying in their rooms quietly in a designated space, while police ensure the school is safe. The drill will last approximately ten minutes. Our RCMP school liaison officer will be here to assist with this drill. Teachers will be going over procedures with students using age-appropriate language. We understand emergency drills can cause feelings of nervousness in some students, so you might want to take some time to check in with your child about the drill.

Lost and Found

Has your child come home without their coat or a hoody lately, then please come and check the lost and found; there are lots of items in there. It has been laid out in front of the office and will be on display until after school on Friday, February 3. See the next page for photos of the lost and found.

PAC Hot Lunch Ordering Information for 2023

The next hot lunch is on February 24th - pizza and sushi will be available. You can choose to order month-by-month OR you can place orders for ALL remaining lunch dates at once - no deadlines to miss that way! Note: orders *do not* carry over - you need to place an order for all of the dates to receive lunch. Please go to https://munchalunch.com/schools/sidney/

Extra Clothes Donations

Due to the recent rain and puddles we have handed out most of our extra pants from the office. If you have any sweatpants or leggings that your child has grown out of, the office would really appreciate the donations. Size 7/8 and up is preferable. We are also in need of bigger socks for our extra clothes bin. Thank you!
