This past week has been rainy and mucky on our school fields. We do our best to have students outside playing in our west coast weather each day. Please ensure that your child comes prepared for the rainy weather and has appropriate footwear for the puddles! If your child needs a pair of rubber boots or rain jacket, please email your child’s teacher or jbatallas@saanichschools.ca, we have extra boots and rain jackets in the office.
Hot Lunch Reminder
Hot Lunch is Friday, January 20thand the PAC needs volunteers to help deliver lunches to the classroom. If you are able to volunteer, please go to the PAC Kitchen when you arrive. Please direct any questions to Kristin Mackenzie at: sidneyelemhotlunch@gmail.com
Read Around the School
A reminder to families that we will be hosting Read Around the School on Friday January 27th from 8:45 - 9:10 am. Please come and join us in this school wide event where we read with each other and enjoy books together. Please come to your child’s classroom right after our morning announcements if you are able to attend.
Kindergarten Registration for Fall 2023
All children born in 2018 are eligible to register for Kindergarten.
- January 24 3:30-5:30pm
- January 25 12:30-2:30pm
- January 26 7:30-9:30am
To register at Sidney Elementary School please bring:
- Completed Registration Form
- Original supporting documentation
- Copies of documentation if possible

Reporting Student Absences
If your child is going to be late to school or away from school for the day please call Safe Arrival at 250-656-7425 and or email sidney_attendance@saanichschools.ca to report the student’s absence/late arrival. Teachers can be cc’d for their information.
